Switch the Play Foundation provides education, wellbeing, career and personal development support to athletes across all sports.

Recognising that transition is a personal experience and athletes do not always know where to start, what support they need or which organisation is best placed to help, Switch the Play Foundation developed its Discovery Call model. The personalised conversation provides a safe space to explore individual circumstances, discuss options and identify appropriate next steps.

The Discovery Call acts as an entry point into both Switch the Play Foundation’s services and the wider athlete transition landscape. Rather than directing athletes into a single pathway, it takes a person centred approach and aims to connect them with the support most relevant to their needs and circumstances. Over the past 12 months nearly 90% of athletes who have had a Discovery Call went on to access further support through Switch the Play or another organisation they were signposted towards.
