Athlete Transition Hub
Athlete Transition
The all-consuming demands of being an elite athlete often come at the expense of other life priorities like education and gaining professional experience. When an athlete’s career ends – usually abruptly and out of their control – they face a range of challenges that they are mostly unprepared for. This can make the transition to life after sports extremely difficult.

Vision
We focus on enhancing the provision of support available to athletes as they make the transition away from their sporting career and identify opportunities for lasting improvement.
We prioritise non-professional sports – for example Olympic and Paralympic sports – where athletes are less likely to have a salary, with a particular focus on disadvantaged athletes.
